It's the standard issue with this text.
It was measured by Lesney at the museum to make the model.

In my opinon Yesteryear castings are the best of the pre computer era.

Thanks for the information!

I agree, the level of detail is fantastic with YY models. They went above and beyond.

Today are the days to get YY's. Prices have dropped dramatically.
I used to pay at least 5 times the price 20 years ago then I pay today.
A near mint yesteryear from the early seventies goes around 8-12 euros now when in the full cardboard picture-box, even the one's with the "line-drawings".
A window type box with the model having plastic spoke wheels does around 3-4 euros.

There will be a time prices go up again!
For now it's the time to pick'm up and enjoy the fantasic craftman's-ship.....

If you love Models of Yesteryear models you have to visit the very big exhbibition in the Louwman museum from july 1st till aug 9.
There will be 112 glasscabinets with modelcars from 112 collectors.
In my cabinet there will be very rare Models of Yesteryear original shopdisplays and other old Matchbox displays, all pre 1968 with the oldest there being from 1958.
These displays will be populated with the original models for the time and amongst the standard Models of Yesteryear models there will be rare variations to see, like a Y8-2 Sunbeam with emerald green seats, the Y3-1 Benz in cream with chartreuse colored roof and the very 1st Y9-1 Showmans Engine with gold block and the very 1st Y2-1 Bus with the 4 above 4 window casting to name just a few.
Mark you diaries and block the dates: july 1st - aug 9rd. Louman museum The Hague.

Sounds interesting.
As a youngster I didn't care too much about the YY models, but recently I got hold of a few - for pennies indeed - and ever since when I see a nice one it's coming home with me.
The same goes for Lledo models imho, valuewise it's nothing, but they are pretty nice display models for, again, pennies. I'm almost friends with my wallet again. Almost...  icon_biggrin
