My personal guess is that Bburago will offer this "cheaper" version of the castings which have the simple wheels, while Maisto will use the same castings for their Custom Shop / All Stars series with nicer rims and rubber tyres.
There were images from Nuremberg 2015 toy fair which have shown some of those Ferraris in Maisto all Stars lineup.
The way I understood is BBurago has the exclusive right to make Ferrari models. For me that's good news; I always hated HW, so didn't buy a single Ferrari when they had the license. The F-40 looks like the old Maisto casting.
Now if only I knew where to find these BBurago 1:64 Ferraris in Belgium...
